DESCRIPTION: I took inspiration from the Egyptian god Bastet, who is depicted as a cat goddess of protection and welfare, and I would like to portray her eyes, which are considered to be beautiful and alluring to look at. By using acrylic paint and adding bright and vibrant colours such as violet, blue, orange and yellow, I am able to create a splendid masterpiece that resonated well with the cat goddess. To me, the cat is a symbol that serves as a familiar or a guardian spirit, and I want to convey how it’s seen as a companion of trust.
